On Mar. 31,  at approximately 4:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Hwy 602 at Hodge Rd. Tragically, the crash resulted in the death of a 49-year-old man named Howard Brooks, of Brandon, Mississippi.

LSP reports that Brooks’ car was traveling in a westerly direction on La Hwy 602 when it deviated off the road and crashed into a utility pole. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, and Brooks, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car.

Brooks sustained lethal injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Madison Parish Coroner’s Office at the site of the accident. The Coroner’s Office gathered a sample of Brooks’ bodily fluids for toxicology analysis purposes.

Since the investigation is ongoing, no additional information is available at this time.
