Missy Gators defeated Murrah 61-58 Monday

The Vicksburg High School Gators girls basketball team defeated the Murrah High School Mustangs Monday in a close 61-58 win.

Destini Sims led the Gators in points, finishing with 20 on the night. Teammate Jana Colenburg put up 10 in the big game.

Shakora Knight also stepped up for VHS and added nine points and Janiah Caples put up 8 points for Vicksburg.

The Vicksburg High Gators now have a 7-5 record. They play Forest Hill High School Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the JPS Trustmark Holiday Basketball Showcase.
