Ole Miss starting offensive lineman Eli Johnson has entered the transfer portal in search of a new team.

The news comes about 10 days after Johnson announced he was opting out of the 2020 football season.

Johnson started all 12 games for the Rebels last season, and he was one of the team’s key blockers, allowing only one sack. Losing him will be a big loss to first year Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels, whose football season is set to begin next month.

By entering the transfer portal, Johnson can be recruited by other universities, but he can also change his mind and stay with the Rebels.
