Ole Miss will retire former quarterback Eli Manning’s number 10 jersey this year.

Manning expressed his excitement on Twitter Monday when he found out the news.

Manning played for the Rebels from 2000 to 2003 before entering the 2004 NFL Draft as the No. 1 draft pick for the New York Giants. At Ole Miss, he threw for 110,119 yards and 81 touchdowns.

Manning went on to win two Super Bowls with the Giants before he announced his retirement in January. His Rebels jersey will now be retired alongside that of his father, Archie Manning, who also played at Ole Miss.

The retirement ceremony will be held for Manning during the Ole Miss versus Auburn game Sept. 19.
