One suspect arrested and one at large in Warren County burglary
Deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested one burglary suspect yesterday and have a warrant for a second suspect in connection with a break-in of the Clear Creek Golf Course on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Course maintenance employees reported the shop had been burglarized overnight. Reported missing were a John Deere Gator utility vehicle, a portable welding machine, a chain saw, assorted tools and various personal items belonging to employees.
Investigator Stacy Rollison along with Deputy Johnny Beachamp and Sheriff Martin Pace developed leads from surveillance videos, which led them to a vacant house in the 9800 block of Freetown Road. There, they found a vehicle stuck behind the residence that matched the description of the one used in the burglary.
Officers impounded the vehicle and transported it to the Warren County Jail. The John Deere Gator was also recovered at the Freetown Road location.
Investigators then arrested Tammy Cooper, 46, at 100 Clear Creek Road. Cooper gave officers a Yazoo County address.
Subsequent to Cooper’s arrest, officers obtained a search warrant for the Clear Creek Road address and recovered a gas can and boots taken in the burglary.
A cooler taken from the shop was recovered on Henry Lake Road.
Cooper will be arraigned today in Warren County Justice Court on a charge of receiving stolen property.
Sheriff Pace advised that his department has an active warrant for 48-year-old John Hill, a white male also known as “Catfish,” for grand larceny in relation to this incident.
Anyone knowing Hill’s whereabouts is encouraged to call Investigator Stacy Rollison of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 601-636-1761 or Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
