Second half comeback helps WC defeat Pearl in a district game

A fourth quarter comeback helped Warren Central girl’s basketball team to a 53-44 district win over Pearl.

Down 29-18 at halftime, the Lady Vikes made a few adjustments going into the second that led to Zion Harvey and Jae’la Smith bringing WC back to life in the third quarter. Only down 38-34 heading into the final quarter, Ta’Mya Sims  hit a few shots along with another 3-pointer by Harvey as WC took the lead.

With late free throws coming from Alexis Jefferies and Smith, WC was to secure the district win.

Sims led with 15 points and Smith put up nine. Jeffries and Kayleigh Karel both put up seven in the win and Bre McDowell added five. Harvey scored eight points and Makayla Mitchell scored two points.
