St Aloysius lost its season opener to Hartfield Academy Friday night in a 43-0 battle.

Xavier Davis did most of the damage for Hartfield. He finished with 176 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Hartfield managed to score on most of their possessions in the first half as they finished with a big victory over the Flashes.

St. Al was led by first-year quarterback Tristan Wilbanks who went six of 12 for 61 yards in the game. The Flashes managed to pick up more yards in the fourth quarter right before time expired, and Carter Magee caught a long pass which put the Flashes inside the 20-yard line.

The loss was Stacy Sizemore’s first game as the Flashes head coach, and he gave his team an uplifting speech at halftime and after the game to ensure them that the season is far from over.

The Flashes will be at home next Friday as they will face Greenville Christian Academy.
