A 5-year-old child and 29-year-old woman were injured in an accident on Highway 27 near its intersection with Clay Street at around 4 p.m. on Monday.

Details of the nature of the accident or extent of injuries are scarce, as the accident remains under investigation, though injuries appear to be minor.

Traffic is moving slowly through the area; anticipate delays.
