Utica native EJ Richards finished an outstanding track career for USM

Utica native Eric Richards finished has finished his season for the University of Southern Mississippi track and field team.

Richards is now a three-time NCAA All-American, along with being a two-time Conference USA Champion.

After competing in his last meet on Friday in Eugene, Oregon, Richards wrapped up an impressive college career.

“Eric had an outstanding career as a Golden Eagle,” head coach Jon Stuart said in a school statement. “I wish his final meet would have had a better result, but it doesn’t diminish how great a student-athlete he was.”

Richards is a former Raymond High School standout and has had a group of supporters cheering him on throughout the years.
