VHS boy’s and girl’s track team runners advance to state

The Vicksburg High School girl’s track team won five individual championships on Saturday and two members of the boy’s team advance to state.

Listed below are the individuals who placed in yesterday’s meet and will advance to state:

Girl’s

  • Layla Carter- first place in 300 meter hurdles, first place high jump, first place triple jump, second in triple jump
  • Jelisa Tyler- first place in shot put
  • Rodrianna Hall- first place in long jump
  • Shaniyah Walker- second place 400 m dash
  • 4X400 meter relay team finished in fourth place- Layla Carter, Shaniyah Walker, Kalia Bland, and Terri Boyd
  • Rekia Williams- fourth place in Discus
  • Kalia Bland- second place 300!m hurdles, third place in 100 m hurdles
  • 4X200 meter relay team- third place with Gabby Oliver, Jakayla Brooks, Terri Boyd, and Shaniyah Walker

Boy’s

  • Koury Vample- second place in 110 m hurdles
  • Tyler Henderson- second place in triple jump
