VHS to hold virtual cheerleading tryouts – VIDEO

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vicksburg High School will hold virtual cheerleading tryouts for ninth through 12th grade students.

Vicksburg-Warren School District Athletic Director Preston Nailor made the announcement to have the cheer tryouts virtually in a Facebook post Sunday.

Students must be enrolled at VHS to participate in the virtual tryout. Participants will be asked to submit a film of various cheers and submit them to varsity cheer coach Nakeia Stewart or Yolanda Atkinson by June 10. Students should send the videos in an email to nakeia.stewart@vswd.org or yolanda.atkinson@vwsd.org.

The video below is an example of what the video should consist of for tryouts. Student can also visit the Vicksburg-Warren School District website for additional information.
