Warren Central High School boys basketball team took a 78-66 loss to the defending state champions Lanier on Monday.

Despite taking the close loss, WC was able take the lead a few times in the game with multiple players scoring in double digits.

Darrton Allen scored 26 points for WC and Gaylon Turner scored 15. Taylor Mitchell contributed eight points and teammate Deonta Segrest added 13.

Early on in the match, WC missed some key layups. They will have a chance to bounce back when they face Vicksburg High on Dec. 4.
