Winters arrested for the murder of Wade Carter

A multi-agency effort brought into custody a long sought after fugitive wanted for the murder of Wade Carter shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Vicksburg Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and US Marshal Fugitive Task force worked in tandem to bring in James Earl Winters without incident after executing a warrant on Los Colinas Drive.
Carter was shot twice in his abdomen outside LD’s Kitchen, 1111 Mulberry St., Tuesday, Oct. 6.
