Alcorn defeats MVSU

Alcorn State University basketball team put up impressive numbers as they defeated in-state rival Mississippi Valley State Saturday.

Troymain Crosby led Alcorn with 27 points as the Braves went on to win with a score of 105-73.

In the first half of the game MVSU had a hard time stopping Alcorn’s offense, which was winning by nearly 20 points at halftime with a 51-32 score.

Caleb Hunter led the team in points for MVSU by having 28 on the night. Although Hunter put up big points, Alcorn had several other players such as Deshaw Andrews and Corey Tillery who had 18 points each, along with Maurice Howard who put up 12 points.

Alcorn was back in action Sunday against Arkansas Pine Bluff.
