Hinds Track & Field takes two firsts at Jaguar Invitational

The Hinds men’s and women’s track and field teams competed Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Jaguar Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, and brought home two first-place finishes.

The women’s 4×400 meter relay team, composed of Kimorla Muschette, Ockera Myrie, Jamaya Rand, and Betheny Sanders, won first place in the Women’s 4×400 Meter Relay Finals with a time of 3:51.40. With that time, the Lady Eagles 4×400 meter relay team now ranks No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Kurt Powdar continued his hot start to his freshman campaign as he brought home another first-place finish in the Men’s 60 Meter Hurdles Finals. Powdar won with a time of 7.84. He now ranks No. 1 in the NJCAA in the men’s 60-meter hurdles.

Hinds Track and Field will be back in action on Feb. 14 and 15 when they travel to Birmingham, Alabama for the Samford Bulldog Invitational and the Samford Open.
