Progress is slow in restoration efforts

As of 2 p.m., Entergy says 30 percent of the damage has been assessed with 20 broken poles and 67 spans of wire down.

Yazoo Valley currently has around 1300 outages with extensive damage on Highway 3 in Yazoo and Warren Counties.

Both companies continue to encourage caution in cutting trees near downed power lines.

Sheriff Martin Pace said his agency responded to over 100 calls between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.

So far there have been no injuries reported as a result of this weather event.
