End of an era:WC’s softball season ended with a loss to Brandon

Warren Central High School softball team’s season came to an end on Monday night in a 3-0 loss to No. 2 Brandon.

Brandon picked up runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings.

Senior Kayleigh Karel led WC at the plate by going 2 for 3 while Mary Evelyn Hossley and Sarah Cameron Fancher both had one hit.

Abby Morgan and Maddy Pant both struck out two batters.

The Lady Vikes went 18-14 this season and made it to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2019.

All three seniors Lola Crozier, Abby Morgan and Kayleigh Karel have signed collegiate scholarships.

Dana McGivney coached her last game as the Lady Vikes head coach as she will be leaving for Oxford next season.
