Former Vicksburg High School gator girl Kionna Taylor  has been named as the team captain of the J-Settes at Jackson State University.

The “Prancing J-Settes” is the popular dance team for the famous JSU “Sonic Boom of the South” band. Taylor was named captain this weekend.

She is a 2017 graduate of Vicksburg High School where she danced for the Gator Girls just a few years ago.  She is now performing in front of a much bigger crowd, but she still has many supporters back home.

Taylor is the second person from Vicksburg to take over a dance team this year. Her former teammate Kevia Davis was named the captain of Alcorn’s Golden Girls earlier this year.
