Heritage House Nursing Center Activities Department announced a special guest visiting them on June 9, Jureesa McBride.

Jureesa McBride, known as The Duchess Jureesa, is a Blueswoman from Port Gibson, Mississippi. Jureesa obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Music Business from Fall Sail University and recently completed a Master’s degree in Teaching from Delta State University. In addition to her musical endeavors, The Duchess is a published author, singer, songwriter, entertainer, radio personality, and a dedicated mother to two daughters.

Jureesa’s journey in music began when she started writing poetry at the age of nine, eventually transitioning to songwriting. Throughout her teenage years, she engaged in artistic activities, participating in cultural centers and theatrical performances. She used her talents to promote reading among disadvantaged youth.

In 2011, Jureesa emerged as the winner of the Face the Music Tournament sponsored by V-World Entertainment. This led to the recording of her first two singles, which garnered attention both in the UK and within the Blues community. In 2012, she established her own independent record label and continued releasing singles. Over the years, she has released EPs, performed at various events, and collaborated with renowned artists.
