Investigation continues on Landings’ apartment fire
Last updated:
Fire investigators are on the scene of the still-smoldering wreck of Building 9 today, looking into what might have caused the fire at the Landings Apartments on Monday.
The fire fully engulfed the building in the few moments between the initial call at 1:56 p.m. Jan. 6 and the arrival of Warren County Fire engines.
Maintenance man Don McBroom’s quick reactions to the fire may have saved lives Monday, as McBroom, 60, went door-to-door getting everyone out of the building. He said he was concerned about the people who could have been hurt or killed.
Warren County Emergency Manager John Elfer and Fire Coordinator Gerald Briggs were on site this morning in addition to investigators with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi State Fire Marshal.
