Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. will be taking the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available to him.

Flaggs announced Monday morning he has changed his mind about the vaccine at the Vicksburg Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting.

“I said many times I wasn’t going to take it,” Flaggs said.

“I believe a leader should lead by example so I think if I’m going to ask everyone else to take it, I think it’s only right if I take it,” he added.
