Mississippi COVID-19 cases jump to 140 with 60 new cases

The Mississippi State Department of Health says increased testing is increasing the numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The state’s total cases now stand at 140. Seven-hundred-and-seventy-five Mississippians have been tested, according to the MSDH, up from just over 600 on Thursday.
One death has been reported from the disease in Mississippi, a 60-year-old man from Hancock County who reportedly had underlying health conditions.
The age range of those testing positive is from 3 to over 70 years of age.
Saturday’s report of 60 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi includes 28 counties. Among the counties with their first COVID-19 cases are Attala, Clay, Union and Clay. No cases from Warren County have been reported.
