District 54 Rep. Kevin Ford (R-Vicksburg) has tested positive for COVID-19.

Ford is among eight legislators who have tested positive for the virus after the recent session, including House Speaker Philip Gunn and Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann. Eleven others are presumed infected.

“He has lots of pain and chest congestion,” his wife, Julie Ford, said. “He is in house jail for now and will miss our family vacation.”

Kevin Ford found out Monday that he had tested positive for the virus.

“He looked pretty bad Saturday. He’s definitely better. He’s been shouting orders since yesterday afternoon,” Julie Ford quipped about her husband.
