Vicksburg High School basketball player Destiny Sims led the Missy Gators in points Tuesday in their 63-61 loss to Northwest Rankin.

Sims scored 18 points against the Cougars in a game where the Gators couldn’t maintain a double-digit lead against Northwest Rankin.

Although Sims put up impressive points, her teammates also pitched in to help out in the match. Ja’Na Colenburg  scored 13 for the Gators while sophomore Layla Carter dropped 11. Sha’Kora Knight finished the game with 9 points for VHS.

The Gators now have a 2-3 record under head coach Troy Stewart.

They travel to Madison Central Thursday to search for a victory against the Jaguars.
