The University of Southern Mississippi football game against the University of Alabama-Birmingham has been canceled due to COVID-19.

The game, which was supposed to be held Friday, is called off because of COVID-19 infections within USM’s football program.

This will be the third game this season that the Golden Eagles have canceled or postponed, but they are still expected to play Friday, Dec. 3, against the University of Texas at El Paso.

The Golden Eagles have a 2-7 record, and they currently have no chance of making it to a bowl game this season.
