The Vicksburg Junior High School eighth grade boys basketball team is looking forward to returning to the Little Six Championship Tournament this year.

The Gators current record is 10-1. The team is led by head coach Jerdon Hardiman and assistant coach Larry Carter who have molded the team to a great place this season.

The team has managed to sweep past almost every opponent they have played. They lost their first game to Germantown, but turned it around a couple of weeks later to take a big victory against them.

Michael Johnson, Decorey Knight Jr, and Mincer Minor IV have all put up major points this season for the Gators as they aimed for the heights of the last year’s team that went 18-1.

Vicksburg Junior High will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 7, against the Madison Central Jaguars where they hope to be one step closer to a championship. They follow that up with their final regular season game against Brandon Monday, Jan. 11.

The Little Six tournament begins Jan. 14.
