Vicksburg Junior High boys basketball team is Little Six No. 1 seed

The Vicksburg Junior High School boys basketball team defeated Brandon Wednesday in a 44-38 win in their last regular season game.

The Gators ended the season with a 12-1 record under head coach Jerdon Hardiman and are the No. 1 seed for the Little Six tournament that begins next week.

Mincer Minor IV scored 13 points against Brandon, paving the way for the Vicksburg victory, while teammate Michael Johnson finished with 9 points.

DeCorey Knight Jr. and Larry Reynolds pitched in 7 points each, and Dennis Battle put up 6 points.

The Junior High Gators are scheduled to play Pearl in the first round of the Little Six tournament. The game is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at home.
