On Monday, Dec. 14, Mississippi received the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines, slated for front line health care workers. The vaccine holds the promise of ending or curtailing the huge numbers of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths. With that, it may also allow many of us to return some normalcy to our lives after nearly a year.

Beyond front line workers, residents of long-term care facilities are the next group to receive the vaccine, followed by others at high risk and with pre-existing conditions making them vulnerable to the virus. Healthy Mississippians may need to wait until spring or summer before a vaccine becomes available to them.

Will you get a shot? Take our poll and let us know.
