With storms approaching will your kids be in school on Wednesday?
Another bad line of storms is approaching the Warren County area. People are upset with the way last week’s storms were handled, first with the decision to open the schools and then with the decision to release the students in what turned out to be the middle of the storm.
Parents are upset with the short notice given and that many of them ended up spending the worst part of the storm in the parking lot of their child’s school.
Warren County Emergency Management Director John Elfer has advised the schools to stay open. “The current timeline of the storm is for it to hit us in the middle of the school day. The students are in a robust structure that is safer than most single-family homes or mobile homes. There is also a tornado plan in place in the schools.”
While the final decision rests with Chad Shealy, it is hard to believe Shealy would do anything other than take the advice of emergency management.
With that in mind, after last week, what are you going to do?
