The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has canceled its football season as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.

The announcement came Thursday on the HBCU Gameday website, which informed everyone that MEAC will not have a football season in 2020.

MEAC is made up of historically black colleges and universities in the Southeast. Teams include Bethune-Cookman, Delaware State, Florida A&M, Howard, Morgan State, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central and South Carolina State.

The organization made the tough decision to cancel its season just as the Ivy League and the Patriot League did last week.

College football is not looking promising for this year.
