St. Aloysius High School swim team placed first in their meet over the weekend. Both the boys and girls teams had an outstanding performance in their first competition after taking the 2020 season off due to COVID-19 concerns.

“I’m extremely proud of what these kids did,” head coach Wilson Carroll said. “We practice at 5:45 a.m. and we’re getting better everyday, so all of our hard work is paying off.”

The girls team came in first place where Leah Larson and Emily Cook contributed the most points.

On the boys side, the Flashes finished second which helped the team finish in first overall. Spencer Carroll and John Daniel Busby were the top scorers for the boys.

Although most of the teams were bigger public schools, the Flashes still managed to bring home the win.

The Flashes will have another meet on Wednesday at 4:30 at the city pool.
