Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba has tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple reports.

Lumumba tested positive after taking a home test, according to city officials. Lumumba is currently quarantined away from the public awaiting more accurate results from a PCR test.

Lumumba is fully vaccinated and has received a booster shot. Lumumba has had a strong stance on the mask mandate in the city of Jackson.
